AEROBIC EXERCISE REDUCES SEVERE ASTHMA PHENOTYPE

چکیده
TOPIC: Allergy and Airway TYPE: Original Investigations PURPOSE: Severe asthma is characterized by higher rates of airway hyperresponsiveness concomitantly increased eosinophilic neutrophilic systemic inflammation in which bradykinin plays a central role. Aerobic exercise (AE) the main component pulmonary rehabilitation inhibiting mild moderate asthmatics. In addition, AE mouse models allergic proven to reduce inflammation, remodeling, hyperresponsiveness, controlling exacerbated Th2 immune response. However, whether could inhibit severe phenotype unknown METHODS: House dust mite (HDM; 200ug/mouse; 3x/week; 6 weeks) Dermatophagoides pteronisynuss was used. Eight C57Bl/6 male mice (Control; n=2x10), (Exercise; (Asthma; n=2x10) (Asthma+Exercise; were assessed after weeks protocol (2 initial intra-tracheal HDM without AE) followed 4 treadmill (1h/session, 5x/week, intensity) + (4 HDM) RESULTS: The results showed that reduced HDM-increased total leukocytes, eosinophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes, macrophages (p<0.01) bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) monocytes whole blood. cytokines IL-1beta, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, IL-17, IL-33, TNF-alpha both BAL plasma HDM+Ex group compared with group, while IL-10 increased. density peribronchial lymphocytes percentage collagen fibers, epithelial smooth muscle thickness group. levels lung homogenate expression at mRNA qRT-PCR B1 receptor (p<0.001) mechanics revealed improved resistance (RAW; p<0.001), tissue (HTIS; elastance (GTIS; p<0.001). once AE-induced release, we tested hypothesis bradykinin-induced cells (BEAS-2B), fibroblast (MRC5), freshly isolated human eosinophils neutrophils activation, measured IL-1beta release. demonstrated inhibited release BEAS-2B, MRC5, neutrophils. CONCLUSIONS: conclusion, can vivo vitro, further clinical trials confirm these findings asthmatic patients are guaranteed. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: possible involvement Bradikinin may be one keys understanding mechanisms aerobic physical action phenotype. Aerobic Exercise Reduces Asthma Phenotype by Modulation of the Leukotriene Pathway
INTRODUCTION Leukotrienes (LTs) play a central role in asthma. Low- to moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (AE) reduces asthmatic inflammation in clinical studies and in experimental models. This study investigated whether AE attenuates LT pathway activation in an ovalbumin (OVA) model of asthma. METHODS Sixty-four male, BALB/c mice were distributed into Control, Exercise (Exe), OVA, and OVA ...
متن کاملAerobic exercise training reduces inflammatory markers involved in atherosclerosis
Introduction: Adipose tissue and inflammatory factors play important role in occurrence of atherosclerosis in overweight women. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of aerobic exercise training on risk factors involved in atherosclerosis in overweight women. Materials and methods: For this, fourteen overweight women (mean ± standard deviation: body mass index 28....
متن کاملAerobic exercise reduces cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and increases
Objective: Although it is generally accepted that endurance training improves cardiac function after myocardial infarction the sub-cellular mechanisms are uncertain. The present study reports the effects of aerobic endurance training on myocardial mass, myocyte 21 21 dimensions, contractile function, Ca handling, and myofilament responsiveness to Ca in cardiomyocytes from healthy and failing ra...
متن کاملP74 - Brittle asthma: a clinical phenotype of severe asthma
Background The term Brittle Asthma was generally used to describe those patients with sudden, severe attacks, usually out of the blue. Recently the following classification was suggested: type 1 characterized by a maintained wide PEF variability despite medical therapy, and type 2 characterized by sudden acute attacks on a background of apparently normal airway function. Patients who develop su...
متن کاملAerobic exercise reduces blood pressure in resistant hypertension.
Regular physical exercise is broadly recommended by current European and American hypertension guidelines. It remains elusive, however, whether exercise leads to a reduction of blood pressure in resistant hypertension as well. The present randomized controlled trial examines the cardiovascular effects of aerobic exercise on resistant hypertension. Resistant hypertension was defined as a blood p...
